Your Path to a Beautiful Smile
A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and the surrounding tissues. Dentures are designed to restore your smile, improve your ability to chew and speak, and help maintain the shape of your face. At Highbridge Dental Associates, we offer both full and partial dentures to suit your needs. A full denture is used when all teeth are missing in the upper or lower dental arches, while a partial denture is used when only some teeth are missing.
If you have recently had teeth extracted, we also offer immediate dentures, which can be placed in the mouth right after the teeth are removed. After the gums heal, the dentures may need to be relined for a better fit. For patients whose gums have already healed, a conventional denture can be permanently placed.
Types of Dentures
Full Dentures
A full denture replaces all the teeth in the upper or lower arch. The upper denture covers the palate (the top of the mouth), while the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate the tongue. Full dentures are designed to match the color and shape of your gums and are custom-made for a natural, comfortable fit.
One popular type of full denture is the Snap-In Denture (also known as an over-denture). This type of denture is secured by dental implants and fasteners, allowing it to "snap in" and "snap out" easily. Snap-in dentures provide added stability and convenience for those who want a more secure fit.
Partial Dentures
If you are missing only a few teeth, a removable partial denture may be the right solution. These dentures are made with a combination of metal and gum-colored acrylic, with one or more prosthetic teeth attached to replace missing ones. There are also flexi-partial dentures, which are metal-free and made with a flexible vinyl base that adjusts comfortably to the contours of your mouth.
To create a removable partial denture, we take an impression of the area where the teeth are missing. From there, we design a "Try-In Partial", which allows you to choose the aesthetic elements such as shape and color. A specialized dental laboratory then crafts the final denture based on our precise measurements.
Denture Materials and Durability
At Highbridge Dental Associates, we use high-quality materials for both the gum segment and the teeth of the denture. The gum segment is made of durable acrylic, while the teeth are made from either ceramic or high-grade porcelain. These materials are carefully chosen to ensure a natural appearance, comfort, and durability.
The longevity of your dentures depends on how well you take care of them. With proper cleaning, maintenance, and regular check-ups, dentures can last for many years. We will work with you to ensure that your dentures continue to function well and maintain their appearance.
